That is why many manufacturers include a small piece of sandpaper in most sets to periodically rub oxidation from track rails.
This is required regular maintenance and most likely will need to be done prior to using the track for the first time. Instead of using sand paper, we recommend unplugging the power pack and rubbing a Quarter Coin on the track rails as a better way to remove track rail oxidation. Vintage Style NOS (New-Old-Stock) Aurora T-Jet 500 cars will require regular maintenance including tuning, cleaning, and oiling just like they did back in the day. AURORA's classic'Pancake' TJet chassis design from the 1960's is the preferred choice of racing clubs and vintage slot car enthusiasts.
