Up for sale is a AFX Giant Raceway 1995 Tomy America Inc Slot Car Track #9868, nearly complete, in very good overall condition. 15 straight track = 16 pieces (complete). 9 straight track = 4 pieces (complete). 6 straight track = 3 pieces (complete). 3 straight track = 3 pieces (complete). 15 terminal track = 1 piece (complete).
15 lap counter = 1 piece (complete). 9 criss cross track = 2 pieces (complete). 9 squeeze track = 1 piece (complete). 9 R curve track 1/4 = 27 pieces (complete). 12 R curve track 1/8 = 2 pieces (complete).
9 R H curve track 1/8 = 4 pieces (complete). 12 R Banked curve track 1/8 = 4 pieces (complete). Super G-Plus Indy cars = 2 cars (complete). Wall pack power unit = 1 (complete). Hand controllers = 2 (complete). Tall track supports = 8 (complete). Short track supports = 11 (missing one). Guard rails = 32 (complete). Grand stand and pits paper cut outs = (missing - not complete).Documents = (owners manual and track layout page, but has some creases, folds and tears from use). Also included: 1 new vintage tune-up kit.
Electronics seem to work fine. I only tested the terminal track and two connected pieces of 15 track. The adapter plug prongs have a slight bend but still go into an extension cord. I have tested four other cars not included on this little setup and they all worked well and zoomed off quite fast. Cars condition: The blue/yellow car drives on both sides, but the split tires on the car results in a slow/halting manner.
The red/white car doesn't go, just sparks a bit when you push it. Both cars have a little light wear to paint, it overall look very good.
Both cars need new tires - between them there are 3-4 split tires. The contacts on both appear somewhat worn/discolored. Included is a vintage brand new tune up kit. I have not tested all of the track pieces but the track overall is in very good condition. I'm guessing the cars need some kind of tune-up and cleaning, but I'm not super familiar with slot cars.
The set appears to be fully complete with the exception of one of the short track supports and the grand stand/pits. I have counted the track pieces twice and everything listed above is included. The set is in good condition overall - track pieces look good and there's no broken bits or issues that I can see. The box is in rough shape. It is faded, torn, and is coming apart on one end.It still can function more or less as the box for the kit, but the internal cardboard supports are also folded and out of original shape.
