1970s AURORA AFX MODEL MOTORING RIVERSIDE 500 HO SLOT CAR RACING SET & OB, READ

Believed to be an almost complete set minus the ornamental trim and broken cardboard guardrails/trestles. The transformer is AC with Dual Throttle Controls - also tested and works. Note that the cars will work on either AC or DC.

Please study the pics and ask questions. Appears to be a complete set. The instructions have stains and some insect damage. The cars have G-Plus motors and do NOT move properly on the track and need some sort of serving or maybe tires?

Track will need to be cleaned and polished. One track clip pin at the end is broken and the same track has a loose torsion bar (perpendicular) that can easily be super-glued back in place because the holder is chipped. This set includes 2 controllers, power pack, 2 bridge supports, 7 guard rails, 3 straight tracks, 1 terminal track, 8 curved track, and 2 cars. One of the cars is missing a tire.

Both cars were tested with a 9V battery and work. Some wear on the box, but no major rips or tears.

Several of the tracks have broken interlocking plastic tabs (see pics) but are still usable tracks, if you use the metal track clips to hold them together (we have included 5 of the clips & instruction for their use); or mount them down on a layout. There are a fewminor melt marks on a few of the piecs Study the pics to determine exactly what is included and the condition. The cars work and probably need a lube and tune-up from years of living in the box. Track will need a light cleaning and polishing.

There are 2 long flex tracks and both are broken, but maybe you can fix them? Most of the tracks have broken interlocking plastic nibs (see last pics) but still usable tracks, if you use the metal track clips to hold them together (not included) or mount them down on a layout.. The grandstand was tested and does make noise, but needs some adjustment or further use (from years of non-use), because one (1) side is louder than the other side. The set looks to be Substantially complete and has seen some normal prior loving use. I do not know if the cars are original to the set, but they look similar to the ones shown on the cover.

They also show signs of prior loving use. I do not think they are lighted. The motors on both cars work, but they do need new tires and a tune-up from years of living in the box to work properly.
